experiences + approach

My therapeutic approach is eclectic and unique to my clients’ individual goals and needs. We discuss this collaboratively, and my approach is informed by evidence-based practices developed to improve emotional and psychological wellbeing. My therapy style is relational and educational: I show up as another human being and teach what I have learned through my education and training.

I completed my graduate degree in 2019 at the University of Florida, earning a M.Ed./ Ed.S. in Mental Health Counseling.

I received my clinical training at the University of Florida Department of Psychiatry, Division of Psychology at Springhill II, where I served as an outpatient therapist and completed specialty training treating Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in the clinic’s intensive outpatient OCD program.

In 2016, I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in History at the University of Florida, where I focused my studies on the 1960s counterculture in the United States with a particular interest in its associated spiritual and religious movements.

I have done community-engaged work and volunteering with the University of Florida’s Samuel Proctor Oral History Program, Therapeutic Horticulture Program at Wilmot Botanical Gardens, and UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine. I also served as a language assistant at the UF English Language Institute and have a passion for multicultural counseling.

Through my therapy work I often fold in historical perspectives, lessons from nature, and the human drive to create and receive “art.” Poetry also often communicates a sentiment that intellectualization cannot; I incorporate poems as they seem relevant.

Values exploration is central to my therapeutic process. I prioritize emotional validation, developing awareness, and cultivating resilience in my work with clients.

I have completed training in Walk & Talk therapy as well as therapeutic horticulture. My office is out in nature, inquire further about what options are available for sessions.

Gainesville has been my home since 2014, and I am passionate about this city and its surrounding area.
